The Family Strengthening Worker is part of ‘Nxwezil’tem’s’ Child and Family Services team and implements culturally appropriate programming that supports the development and enhancement of Southern Stl’atl’imx Health Society families. The Family Strengthening Worker may also take the lead role in coordinating resources that enhance families to work better together. Family Support Services include a range of supports for families intended to help promote children’s safety, reduce vulnerability, maximize quality of life and assist families in their roles as primary caregivers. The Family Preservation Worker is a full-time, permanent position.

The ECD Coordinator provides quality programming in a variety of settings in N’Quatqua, Skatin, and Samahquam.  Programs may include Early Childhood Development Drop-ins and Playgroups, Licensed Child Care Programs, Indigenous Early Years programs, Indigenous Headstart and community events. The ECD Program Coordinator supports children aged 0-6, their families and other staff utilizing a strengths-based approach and is responsible for: program planning and delivery, including staffing and resource management of ECD programs in communities; recordkeeping; and reporting (qualitative and quantitative).

The ASCD Worker provides quality programming in a variety of settings in Q’aLatku7em and Skatin. Programs may include Early Childhood Development Drop-ins and Playgroups, Licensed Child Care Programs, Home Visitations arranging visiting therapists, and Community Events. The ASCD Worker supports children and youth aged 0 to 18, their families, and other staff utilizing a strengths-based approach and is responsible for: providing hands-on support to ensure effective inclusion of children with developmental delays and disabilities; identifying goals and strategies that reflect the best interests of the child/youth within the context of the family; and supporting program planning and delivery.
